Shenandoah Tumblers, Inc. began in 1991 from a love of gymnastics, along with an untapped market in the Northern Shenandoah Valley region. Beginning with the Clarke County Parks and Recreation department, this love became a reality. Clarke County provided space at the Powhatan School along with equipment and marketing and we provided the training. Six months later our enrollment increased and forced us to move to a larger space, a 4,200 sq. ft. facility in the City of Winchester.
The 1992 Summer Olympics was an awesome year for the US women’s gymnastics team and again our increased enrollment forced us to expand for a 3rd time. By October of 1992 we moved next door to a 9,600 sq. ft. building.
Again, in 2005 opportunity knocks and we partnered with the Sportsplex in Kernstown, VA where we custom designed our current 15,000 sq. ft., fully air-conditioned training facility. This has been home ever since and the story continues…
Our philosophy is to create a positive and enjoyable experience that each child can take with them for the rest of their lives. Progressive gymnastics training, safety, and as always, "fun," are the goals of our organization. Gymnastics provides for many great rewards, both physically and mentally.
